Spencer began his cricket playing and coaching journey at just 16, representing Lancashire County and the Central Lancashire League while playing 1st XI cricket for Stand CC, where he also took on a junior fast bowling coaching role. His passion for coaching continued to grow during his time with the Metropolitan Police, where, at 21, he became a player-manager and the youngest coach to lead his team to national finals after winning the Peel District Trophy.

With over 30 years of experience as a sports coach, Spencer has developed young athletes across cricket and football in clubs, schools, and performance programmes, including Chance to Shine, Playground to Podium, and Surrey County East District performance nets. An award-winning coach, he is known for his strong focus on the psychological side of performance within team environments.
